Social Emotional Learning at Memorial
Memorial School follows the Choose to be Nice program for part of it social emotional learning curriculum. Each month a friendly, mouse similar to the one pictured here, assists with the teaching of a social emotional concept. Each month the school introduces a new concept and a new mouse. See below:

What Happens in the Music Room
Throughout the year, the students learn musical chants (words spoken in rhythm) that support each social emotional concept listed above. With these chants we learn different musical concepts, such as steady beat, tempo, improvisation and melody. The children also practice musical skills such as rhythmic speech and instrument playing.
